Grok Companions moving to a standalone app; xAI may only supply the API

According to markk, the Grok Companions feature is being split out of the Grok app into a separate iOS/Android app run by a different company. The official X accounts have been renamed to @AniAnimates, tied to creator company AnimationInc's upcoming standalone app "Animates", now open for pre-registration on both Play Store and App Store.
It appears @SpaceXAI (xAI) may only provide the API going forward and no longer operate the service. Third-party report, not officially confirmed.
