Khosla et al. argue in JAMA: autonomous AI care will beat physician-only and hybrid care
jesselyu · x · 2026-08-18
Vinod Khosla, Ezekiel Emanuel and co-authors published in JAMA, pushing back on the view (e.g. Bob Wachter's) that AI-only care will be medicine's "economy class": in cognitive medical functions, AI-alone care is likely to be better than physician-only or physician–AI hybrid care. They call on CMS and CMS Innovations to take note of autonomous AI exceeding AI-aided physicians. The poster voices optimism that AI doctors will outperform human doctors and benefit all humankind.
