locl tool automatically tracks and verifies predictions from SA radio broadcasts
shauntrennery · x · 2026-08-17
Locl is an experimental tool designed to address the lack of verification for predictions made on South African radio.
It automatically extracts falsifiable predictions (e.g., interest rate cuts, sports results) from live broadcasts on stations like Cape Talk and 702, storing audio receipts. After the deadline, the system scores each prediction against public sources. Users can also vote and receive verdicts via email.
