DeepSeek paper fixes Transformer flaw causing 3000x signal amplification

DeepSeek published a paper addressing a core flaw in every Transformer model. While residual connections and Hyper-Connections enable deep networks to scale via additive shortcuts, they often cause signal amplification up to 3,000x, crashing training. DeepSeek introduces "Manifold-Constrained Hyper-Connections," applying the Sinkhorn-Knopp algorithm to maintain balanced streams. This approach reduces instability to just 1.6x while preserving inference speed through hardware optimizations.
