Google's A2A Protocol Joins AAIF to Standardize Cross-Framework Agent Communication
iamKierraD · x · 2026-08-17
Google's A2A protocol is now part of the Agentic AI Interoperability Forum (AAIF). A2A addresses the inability of agents built on different frameworks to hand off work without custom integration code for every vendor pairing. It standardizes agent discovery, task delegation, and result exchange across frameworks and organizational boundaries, and is already running in production at Huawei, WeChat, Google Cloud, Azure, AWS, and PayPal. It joins MCP, goose, AGENTS.md, and agentgateway under open, neutral governance.
