Reuters: Zhongguancun's AGI Bar offers unlimited free DeepSeek tokens and a 9.9 yuan 'foam'

Reuters profiled an AI-themed bar in Beijing's Zhongguancun named "Knowledge Distillation" — a pun on liquor and model distillation. Two NVIDIA DGX Sparks sit in the bar; guests get unlimited free DeepSeek tokens over WiFi for coding, and the signature drink "AGI" costs 9.9 yuan — literally a cup of foam.
Walking distance from Tsinghua and Peking University, the bar has become a hub for China's AI practitioners, hosting dev meetups, open-source forums and celebrations for labs like Z.ai. It has automated inventory, bookings, utilities and membership with AI agents, plans to expand and add humanoid robot service, and opened a Shanghai branch in June — though it's not yet profitable because too many drinks are given away.
