NesMom Algorithm Enables Precise Non-Contact Blood Pressure Monitoring via FMCW Radar
maier_ak · x · 2026-08-17
Researchers have introduced NesMom, a novel method utilizing FMCW radar and momentum-driven adaptive DC offset calibration to tackle noise in non-contact vital sign monitoring. This technique extracts precise pulse waveforms from sub-micron skin movements, enabling blood pressure measurement without cuffs or wearables. Published in the IEEE Journal of Electromagnetics, RF and Microwaves in Medicine and Biology, the study employs temporal smoothing to significantly enhance accuracy, paving the way for sophisticated, home-based clinical monitoring.
