Pallas Forge Open Source Project Bridges JAX GPU Kernel Gaps with Benchmarks
A_K_Nain · x · 2026-08-17
AKNain announced Pallas Forge, a community-driven open-source project designed to bridge the gaps in JAX's Pallas extension for GPUs.
While Pallas has matured, practical adoption remains difficult. The project targets three key areas:
- Real-world Examples: Provides kernels for specific use cases like fused dequantization, Flash Attention variants, and fused-norm for different GPU families.
- Performance Benchmarks: Includes GPU performance baselines to help developers assess kernel efficiency, moving beyond mere code generation.
- Documentation: Supplements official guides with hands-on engineering insights.
