Nvidia is in talks to invest about $3 billion in SB Energy, a SoftBank data center and power infrastructure company, per The Information. SB Energy is developing the 10GW data center campus in Ohio for OpenAI. Nvidia also plans to provide a $100 billion credit guarantee to OpenAI for the project's first phase.
Nvidia recently invested in Lancium as well. This indicates that the AI competition focus is shifting to power infrastructure, with chip makers locking in long-term orders through infrastructure investment.
