Simon Willison · rss · 2026-08-17
Simon Willison announced updates to his markdown-svg-renderer tool, which now supports converting Markdown-embedded SVGs into images and videos. Key features include:
- Format Conversion: Tabs to render SVG as PNG or JPEG directly in the browser for easy sharing.
- Video Export: A new MP4 tab that detects SVG animations, estimates loop duration, and uses ffmpeg.wasm to compile frames into a video client-side.
The tool runs entirely in the browser and can load content via GitHub Gist URLs.
