Redis author antirez strongly criticized the EU's mandate for AI-generated text watermarking. He called it incredibly stupid, arguing that: 1. It doesn't impact generation quality; 2. Thinking that "having AI in the loop" requires disclosure is dumb; 3. Failing to realize that rephrasing tools designed to remove statistical hints (used to detect watermarks) are simple to create.
