Claude Desktop adding built-in browser and model comparison mode
testingcatalog · x · 2026-08-17
Anthropic is developing a built-in web browser for Claude Desktop's Cowork sessions, allowing users to open pages while maintaining context. A new comparison mode is also in the works to let users manually switch between and compare outputs from different Claude models. These moves aim to close the feature gap with competitors like OpenAI in the trend toward AI desktop super apps, which Microsoft, Google, Meta, and xAI are also pursuing.
