Dario Amodei: Public AI distrust stems from unkept promises

Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei shared his view on the public's negative perception of AI. He argues it is not caused by AI leaders warning about risks, but by a fundamental crisis of trust where people distrust companies and tech. Amodei opposes using glitzy marketing campaigns, like claiming AI will cure cancer, to win back trust, as most people find it deceptive. He states the only way to succeed is to actually deliver solutions like curing cancer. The most valid criticism of AI firms, including Anthropic, is that they have not yet delivered on their big promises to benefit the world.
