EU AI Act mandates text watermarking, OpenAI commits to compliance for future models

Under Article 50(2) of the EU AI Act, any new model released after August 2nd, 2026, must make its generated text detectable. OpenAI has publicly stated its intent to comply, implying that all future models, including Astra, will launch with invisible watermarks.
