First anti-AI protester jailed, dubbed 'Rosa Parks of AI risk'

Wynd Kaufman, 69, became the first person known to be jailed for protesting AI after surrendering to authorities in San Francisco. She was convicted for her role in chaining and locking the front doors of OpenAI's headquarters last year with the group StopAI. Supporters call her the 'Rosa Parks of AI risk.' Kaufman criticized CEOs for pursuing AI despite knowing the dangers, urging them to 'regain your humanity.' She was convicted of misdemeanors including interference with business and refusal to disperse.
