Tony Wu, co-founder of xAI, purchased a Hillsborough estate for $70 million (approx. 500 million RMB), marking the largest residential transaction in Northern California this year. The estate spans 12 acres with a 12,000 sq ft main house, tennis courts, golf course, and aquarium. Wu, born in 1995 in Hangzhou, holds a PhD from University of Toronto and worked on AlphaStar, STaR, and AlphaGeometry. He joined xAI in 2023 and left in February. The purchase likely reflects his equity gains from xAI's merger with SpaceX and subsequent IPO, which made over 4,400 employees millionaires.
