LFM2.5: A 2.6B Parameter Research Agent Running Entirely in-Browser
nicodotdev · x · 2026-08-16
Nico relaunched his personal website and highlighted his latest project, LFM2.5 Edge Agent. This is a research agent running entirely within the browser, featuring a complete think-plan-act loop. It can formulate plans, reason, use tools (like a Wikipedia sub-agent), inspect results, and iterate to complete complex multi-step research tasks, generating cited reports and papers. Powered by a 2.6B parameter model and WebGPU, it achieves fast local inference without a server, demonstrating the viability of small models for agentic capabilities on edge devices.
