LFM2.5: A 2.6B Parameter Research Agent Running Entirely in-Browser
nicodotdev · x · 2026-08-16
Nico released the LFM2.5 Edge Agent, a research agent running entirely in the browser. It features a full think-plan-act loop, capable of creating explicit plans, reasoning, calling tools, inspecting results, and iterating until multi-step objectives are met. It can delegate sub-tasks and generate cited research papers. The highlight is its small size of just 2.6B parameters, leveraging WebGPU for fast on-device inference without backend servers, demonstrating the potential of small models for agentic capabilities at the edge.
