DeepSeek open sources Harness, a highly pluggable Agent framework
ruslansv · x · 2026-08-16
DeepSeek has released DeepSeek Harness, a deeply plugin-based Agent runtime framework (GitHub Stars > 114k). Built upon the proven high-scale plugin system Koiji, its key features include:
- Dynamic Composition: Formal treatment based on the Cordis paper, supporting reversible effects and reactive dependencies.
- No Privileged Core: The agent loop itself is a replaceable plugin.
- Log-as-Source-of-Truth: Enforces a single event stream for all observability and control features.
- Self-Referential Modes: Allows agents to inspect and recompose their own plugin trees.
- Proven Continuity: Inherits from a mature large-scale system rather than being an ad-hoc LLM-era framework.
