Scott Gray, a key engineer who built the GPU infrastructure behind GPT-3 and early breakthroughs since 2016, has left OpenAI. His exit adds to the growing list of at least 12 senior leaders departing in 2026, including the CRO, former COO, Head of Sora, and Head of Safety Systems.
