OpenAI Web App's GPT Pro Usage Loophole: Write Code Directly to GitHub

doodlestein · x · 2026-08-15

A user discovered a loophole where GPT Pro in the OpenAI Web App does not count against usage limits. By using the GitHub connector within the web app, the model can write code directly to public or private repositories repeatedly in the same session. The author demonstrated this by building the FrankenOverlap project (125 commits) entirely this way. It is suggested that users clone the project locally for final tweaks, as the loophole is likely temporary.
