A user discovered that ChatGPT's image copyright safeguards are wildly inconsistent. After being refused a Pikachu coloring page, a simple "Try again" prompted the model to generate a full image of the character.
ChatGPT explained that safeguards are evaluated probabilistically for each generation, meaning the same request can be allowed once and blocked another. This effectively allows users to bypass certain restrictions by repeatedly submitting the prompt.
