New AI Lab Inherent Raises $50M to Build Self-Improving Research Agents

Inherent, a newly founded lab, announced a $50 million seed round led by Index Ventures and Radical Ventures, with participation from NVentures (NVIDIA). The lab aims to build AI agents capable of discovering new knowledge, designed for the coming era of machine-driven scientific inquiry. Inherent plans to recursively self-improve the entire research organization by living within the experiment. Key research questions include the "AI taste" in sciences, new human-machine teaming models, and building recursive self-improvement at the collective level to increase human agency.
