REFMOD Tool for MiniMax H3 Converts References to Reusable Lightweight Modules
LuisaPinguinnn · reddit · 2026-08-15
A community developer has released REFMOD, a tool designed for the MiniMax H3 model to optimize the reuse of reference images and videos during generation.
Instead of reloading the original reference file for every generation—which can be slow and cause style bleeding—REFMOD allows users to extract and save references as tiny .safetensors files ("mods").
Key features include:
- Performance: Injects the reference directly into conditioning, bypassing the heavy reference loading process.
- Control: Adjustable strength via simple numbers, with support for blending multiple mods (e.g., face + style + outfit).
- No Training: Works by encoding the reference; no training time is required.
The project is currently in beta. Known issues include lack of audio support and the need for precise prompting to maintain concept consistency.
