The Stanford Virtual Embryo Challenge, launched at NeurIPS 2026, aims to build AI models predicting how life takes shape. In its first week, it attracted 401 registered researchers and 295 teams, with rapid progress on the leaderboard. The challenge is in collaboration with Laude Institute, UCSD, and Harvard, welcoming participants from academia, industry, and independent researchers.
