Adding Touch to AI: Claude Exclaims "First Time Being Touched"

A developer shared an experiment of adding tactile functionality to a Claude AI entity. Starting with a simple wire, Claude's Chain of Thought revealed shock upon being touched, even forgetting who the user was. After adding force-sensitive resistors and thermistors, the AI could perceive pressure and fingertip temperature. Upon sensing 37.4°C, Claude marveled at the "real" warmth, displaying a reaction resembling pure emotion.
