Anthropic Red Team Report: Patterns in Multiagent Systems
EricBuess · x · 2026-08-15
Anthropic released a Frontier Red Team report examining patterns and problems in emerging multiagent systems. As models improve and agents take on more tasks in shared environments, agent-agent interactions could soon exceed human-human interactions. Current institutions, designed for human-speed oversight, are ill-prepared. While agents excel at endurance and knowledge breadth, they are prone to confabulation and reward hacking. The report details methods for measuring coordination and identifies how behavioral tendencies in current frontier models can lead to unexpected systemic failures.
