New AI pipeline cuts scientific JATS conversion cost from dollars to cents per page
VikParuchuri · x · 2026-08-15
JATS conversion is a major bottleneck in scientific publishing, often costing dollars per page and taking weeks. A new Datalab processor pipeline achieves this in under 5 minutes for cents per page with near-human accuracy. It scores 92.6% on human-matched benchmarks, supports scanned legacy journals, and outputs DTD-validated JATS 1.2 XML with referenced figure images.
