Current Long-Horizon Agent Designs Are Wrong Due to Jagged Intelligence
philhchen · x · 2026-08-15
The author argues that current long-horizon agent designs are flawed because they underestimate the jaggedness of agent intelligence. In such a frontier, productivity is bottlenecked by tasks the model can't do due to access or skill limitations. These agents need a richer interface for human interaction beyond just asking questions—for example, handing off SD card data uploads or training runs to humans when attempts go awry.
