Letting Claude plan every family meal: down 9 kg in a summer, never felt like a diet

A Reddit user exported their Nextcloud Cookbook recipes to a spare Google Drive, added a Bluetooth scale for weight/TDEE plus written goals, and now Claude plans all family meals — portions (with max sizes) go into Google Calendar, shopping lists are auto-generated, and prep reminders are set. Result: 9 kg down this summer while eating more and better than before.
His point about the prompt: it's about writing down rules, not clever wording:
- Stats & targets: height, weight, TDEE, calorie band, protein target
- Fixed meal times (08:00/12:30/16:00/18:30) instead of hunger cues
- Portion ceilings per meal, written as maximums
- Everything weighed, cooked weight first with raw weight in brackets
- An explicit ban on suggesting bigger portions or extra dishes; calorie gaps filled with dense items like nuts or oil
Claude even added 16:00 and 21:00 snack slots, and the author stresses he still enjoys cooking — the setup gives him a reason to keep doing it.
