Report: SpaceX closes $60B all-stock acquisition of Cursor
mark_k · x · 2026-08-14
According to X user @markk (unverified, no official source), SpaceX has closed its acquisition of Cursor maker Anysphere:
- All-stock deal valued at $60B, effective August 14, 2026
- Anysphere becomes a wholly owned SpaceX subsidiary; shareholders received SpaceX Class A shares based on the $60B valuation
- If true, the largest acquisition of a venture-backed startup in history
The poster argues SpaceX gains the product, developer distribution, talent, and real coding data that improves models. The claim currently comes from a single personal account and should be treated with caution.
