AI for Introspection: Externalize Experience, But Real-Life Observation Is Key
DevToD4 · x · 2026-08-14
The author argues one of the most interesting uses of AI is introspection. Real introspection starts outside your head: noticing what made you angry, avoided, etc., then bringing those observations back to make sense. AI makes reflection easier by externalizing experience and reflecting patterns clearly. But there's a hard boundary: observation must come from real life, and the lesson must become visceral, otherwise you're just becoming articulate about yourself, not developing.
