Newer Gemini models only marginally better but far pricier, dev complains

Developer emax criticizes Google's upgrade path: migrating away from the older gemini-3.1 models is made very hard because everything newer is only marginally better while significantly more expensive.
The complaint highlights rising API costs as a real burden for heavy Gemini users, and fuels debate over vendors effectively raising prices by pushing users off older models onto newer, pricier ones.
