X has open-sourced the For You timeline algorithm, revealing specific weights: a like is worth 0.5 points, and copying a link to share is worth 20 points. Instead of predicting relevance, the algorithm predicts specific actions (like, reply, copy link, report) and combines these probabilities into a score. The open-source release includes weight values, filtering and labeling systems, and real training code.
