Character LoRA per-frame cost measured: 6s vs 175s, selective use saves 60% time
ItsMilaVoss · reddit · 2026-08-14
The author measured the rendering cost of character LoRA paths: at 1080x1350, 8 steps, cfg 1, the fast path (Krea 2 Turbo) takes 6-8s per frame, while the character path (Selfora Krea 2 Realistic + character LoRA at 0.75) takes 174.9s, about 25x difference. By analyzing, the slow path is only needed when a face is visible; six of nine shots had no face, so fast path sufficed. Optimization reduced rendering time from 26 minutes to 10 minutes. The author also shared a failure case and caveats.
