MiniMax Open-Sources Music 3.0: Generates 5-Minute Songs on 8GB VRAM
xiaohu · x · 2026-08-14
MiniMax has officially open-sourced its new music generation model, Music 3.0. By inputting lyrics and a style description, it can generate a complete 5-minute song featuring full structures like intros, choruses, and bridges, outputting in 32kHz stereo.
Key Improvements
- Structured Captions: Replacing single global tags with time-axis structured descriptions. It details vocal styles and instrument arrangements, fixing common issues like instruments dropping out mid-song or emotional drift.
- Low Deployment Barrier: The entire model is open-source and can run locally on a single 8GB VRAM GPU.
- Ecosystem: Officially open-sourced 1,000 prompt templates and an expansion skill. No technical report or benchmark scores were provided with the release.
