AI Agent Spends 40 Minutes on a 2-Click Task, Exposing Browser Automation Flaws

The author tested an AI agent on Ticketmaster to buy two tickets—a simple two-click task for a human. However, the agent spent 40 minutes blindly stabbing at the seating map, with the cart expiring twice.

While testing agent-browser, the author noted that although it consumed fewer tokens than a Playwright MCP setup, it easily got stuck in infinite loops when facing captchas or unexpected modals (reopening the same popup 11 times). The author concludes that current browser automation tools perform well on clean demo sites but remain highly fragile when dealing with complex, resistant real-world websites.
