Testing MiniMax Video Character Swap: Model Struggles to Replace Human Hands
Alex-edits123 · reddit · 2026-08-14
A user testing the MiniMax H3 model for video character replacement (swapping a human with a cat) found that while the model successfully swaps the face, it fails to accurately transform the hands, resulting in glitchy frames featuring a mix of human hands and cat paws.
To fix this, the user leveraged Claude to write an extremely detailed prompt. They defined the anthropomorphic anatomy of the cat in modules like subjectdefinitions and retentionanalysis, explicitly emphasizing that "no human arms, hands, fingers, or bare human skin should appear anywhere." However, the model still failed to fully comply with the instructions.
