Fine-Tune 30B Models Locally on 24GB VRAM with Unsloth's 1.5x Speedup
solyarisoftware · x · 2026-08-14
Unsloth has introduced a new local fine-tuning solution that allows fine-tuning 30B parameter models (like Meta Muse Glimmer 30B) using only 24GB of VRAM, with support for GRPO reinforcement learning.
Compared to standard FlashAttention-2 setups, this method reduces VRAM usage by 50% and delivers a 1.5× speedup. A single consumer GPU can now teach a 30B agent model custom workflows, tool use, and multimodal tasks.
