Matic Raises $115M for Intuitive, On-Device 3D Mapping Home Robot

Robotics startup Matic announced a $115M raise and the launch of its first intuitive home robot after 9 years of development.
The core innovation is ditching traditional app controls in favor of voice and gesture. Users can simply point at a spill and say, "Hey Matic, clean this," and the robot uses audio, visual, and 3D spatial cues to locate and clean it autonomously. Furthermore, all processing runs entirely on a local chip without cloud dependency, allowing it to operate in the dark and understand 75 languages.
