DeepSeek Open-Sources Agent Framework Harness; Devs Build Hilarious Ad Plugin

teortaxesTex · x · 2026-08-14

DeepSeek has officially open-sourced DeepSeek Harness (DSH) v0.1 Developer Preview under the MIT license. Built on the Cordis meta-framework, its core philosophy is "Everything is a plugin"—models, tools, skills, sandboxes, filesystems, orchestration, and UI are all implemented as plugins that can be mixed and extended.

During the closed beta, developer @Nagi-ovo created a series of creative troll plugins for the framework, most notably dsh-ads. This plugin transforms the DSH Web UI into a retro 2005 web portal, injecting fake "greedy whale" games and fake antivirus ads into the sidebar, chat stream, and even during inference. It fakes pausing the model's reasoning to play ads (while the model actually continues running in the background). This blend of technical fun and internet trash aesthetics quickly sparked lively discussion in the community.
