Databricks CEO: AI Agents Break Through in Enterprise, Driving 70% of Platform Queries

Databricks CEO Ali Ghodsi explained how the company achieves 80% growth at a $7B revenue run rate. He attributes this to AI agents finally starting to work effectively in the enterprise.
While AI has been highly capable for a while, it lacked the business context stored in people's heads or SaaS systems. Traditionally, companies deployed FDEs to manually capture this context (ontology) for AI, which was expensive. Databricks automated this process using Genie Ontology.
With this enterprise context graph, an AI agent like Genie becomes magical. Ghodsi noted that he now queues up questions for the AI during meetings instead of waiting for his C-suite, and customers are doing the same. Currently, over 70% of all queries on the platform are generated by Genie agents.
