UC Berkeley Introduces DAB: A New Benchmark for Enterprise Data Agents
HamelHusain · x · 2026-08-14
UC Berkeley researchers shared the new Data Agent Benchmark (DAB). This benchmark specifically evaluates the ability of AI agents to solve enterprise business questions, such as identifying the cohort with the highest churn.
DAB's core strength is its realistic recreation of the messy reality of enterprise data warehouses:
- Data is spread across at least two different database systems.
- Features inconsistent join keys.
- Key values are buried in unstructured free text.
- Schemas are ambiguous or ill-defined.
The presentation also details how current frontier models actually perform on this benchmark.
