NVIDIA: AI is a New Compute Model for Media, Story Becomes the Interface

nvidia · x · 2026-08-14

Richard Kerris, Nvidia’s VP of Media and Entertainment, argues that the industry widely misreads AI by treating it merely as a Google-like search feature rather than a new compute model.

Tracing back to real-time rendering made possible by RTX eight years ago, he explains that eliminating rendering bottlenecks paved the way for today's generative AI. Powered by the new Vera Rubin platform, Runway deployed its Gen-4.5 model in just one day. Kerris advises leaders to rebuild around this new compute paradigm, where future agents will turn the story itself into the interface.
