AI Agents Reshape Hiring: Stanford Researcher Rethinks RA Interview Criteria

Stanford researcher Rishi Bommasani discussed the evolving hiring criteria for Research Assistants (RAs) in the era of AI agents. He noted that while traditional technical interviews are not obsolete, assuming extensive use of AI agents by RAs has shifted his evaluation focus.
He recently found three specific factors more valuable than the interview methods used 3 years ago. Furthermore, he highlighted that the heterogeneity of RA roles across different disciplines and topics makes it difficult to generalize hiring practices.
