Cursor Acquires Firetiger to Bolster Autonomous Production Agents
DanielLockyer · x · 2026-08-14
AI coding tool Cursor has acquired the Firetiger team. Firetiger specializes in building agents that operate in production environments, monitoring rollouts, catching regressions, investigating incidents, and passing insights back to coding agents.
This acquisition aims to bridge the gap between writing code and running it. Together, Cursor's agents will not only ship changes but also observe their behavior in production and respond autonomously when issues arise. This move is part of Cursor's broader strategy to build long-running, autonomous, context-aware agents for engineering teams.
