Solo dev maps 18,861 US running tracks using Claude for aerial analysis
Past_Election_5005 · reddit · 2026-08-14
A solo developer used Claude to build TrackAtlas.org, successfully mapping all 18,861 running tracks in the US and including data for 8 other countries.
Claude played a massive role: it helped build the data sourcing algorithms and the website itself. It also functions as part of the data processing pipeline, running aerial analysis on suspected false positives to filter out outdated OpenStreetMap data in certain countries. The raw data relies heavily on OSM contributors.
