DebunkBot: AI Chatbot Convinces 25% of Users to Abandon Conspiracy Theories

MIT Professor Steven Strogatz highlighted DebunkBot, an AI chatbot developed by David Rand's team. Users can present a conspiracy theory they believe in, and the bot calmly challenges it by analyzing evidence and reasoning.
Surprisingly, research data shows that about a quarter of users abandoned their chosen conspiracy theories after having a conversation with the AI.
