Arcee AI Open-Sources NAC, an Agent Harness for Long-Running Tasks
latkins · x · 2026-08-14
Arcee AI has introduced NAC, an open-source agent harness designed for long-running, asynchronous, and hands-off complex engineering tasks.
- Battle-tested internally: NAC has been used daily by Arcee's research team since April. Over the last 3 months, it powered a significant portion of the code committed to their pre-training, post-training, and data pipelines, often driven remotely via phones.
- Core philosophy: It aims to solve context loss and intent dilution in long tasks, enabling agents to handle ambitious workloads that span many hours.
Additionally, Arcee announced the expansion of its API to host third-party open-weight models from various providers, including Chinese companies, to offer more flexible pricing and options.
