MParakhin · x · 2026-08-14
Mikhail Parakhin, CEO of Microsoft Bing, shared a counterintuitive data point. There is a widespread industry fear that AI is swallowing traditional search and killing organic discovery, but Shopify's latest numbers tell a different story.
According to the data, while AI-referred sessions surged 3x year-over-year, traditional organic traffic still grew by 12% on a massive base. This suggests that the overall pie has gotten bigger, and AI search and traditional search are currently experiencing mutual growth.
